Home Improvement Agency (HIA) offers a host of services to help Telford and Wrekin homeowners and private tenants remain safe, secure, comfortable and independent in their own homes.

It can provide support with the following services:

  • Adaptations – a service to provide adaptations to homes
  • Home repairs – advice and services for maintaining homes
  • Green Deal – advice and practical measures on how to keep homes safe and secure
  • Empty properties – advice and guidance on how to bring empty property back into use or where to report an empty property.

Care Call / Lifeline

Personal Alarms give family and friends peace of mind and independence to the user.

When the button on the pendant is pressed, it connects 24 hours a day to dedicated call centre. So if there is an accident or a fall, the person can get help quickly.

The alarm works in the home or in the garden so the user can move around freely safe in the knowledge that help is at hand. The light weight alarm pendant can be worn either around the neck or as a wrist band.

Personal data – LIONS message in a bottle

Message in a Bottle is a potentially life-saving scheme. It is a simple idea that encourages people to keep their basic personal and medical details in a common place where they can easily be found in an emergency. It is a national scheme that is funded locally by the Ironbridge & Severn Gorge Lions Club. NHS Telford and Wrekin currently sponsor the scheme.

Members of the public can obtain bottles from participating health centres, GP practices and pharmacies.
